ROYAL ENFIELD launch their newest mid market offering, the Meteor 350, into Australian dealerships the second week of February. It’s the first of many new models the brand expects to unveil locally in 2021.
The LAMS approved Meteor 350 will be launched in three model variants. The Fireball, with a starting price of $6,540 plus on roads, the Stellar, at $6,840 plus on road costs, and the Supernova, at $7,240 plus on road costs.
Each variant will be offered in two distinctive colour schemes, except for the Stellar which will be offered in three. Each bike will also be backed by a 3-year unlimited kilometre factory warranty, including roadside assist.
With Royal Enfield experiencing strong growth in the ANZ region and now boasting a dealer footprint numbering more than 43 locations, the company has further committed to the region with news a technical institute in Melbourne.
2021 also marks Royal Enfield’s 120th anniversary, with their first production bike built in 1901.
It inherits its name from another iconic Royal Enfield motorcycle of the 1950s too. Launched towards the end of 1952, the Meteor was a touring motorcycle with a reputation that has stood the test of time.
The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 easy-cruiser, carries the brand’s signature styling. Designed for the city commute with the ability to highway cruise, the Meteor 350 offers the rider the perfect combination of urban mobility, adventure and exploration.
The Meteor 350 features a brand new motor and chassis combination that is designed to inspire confidence and bring new levels of refinement to the Royal Enfield model range.
The J Series air-oil cooled 349cc SOHC engine, with a charismatic long stroke, produces smooth tractable power and bottom end torque.
The electronic fuel injection system provides reassuring power delivery right from the start and consistently through the rev range. Matched to a 5-speed gearbox, the Meteor 350 produces 20.2HP (15.1kW) and 27Nm of torque, with a claimed top speed of 115km/h.
Perhaps the most intriguing and interesting new feature to be launched on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 though, is the Tripper, a turn-by-turn navigation device for real time directions.
Built using the Google Maps platform, the Royal Enfield Tripper is capable of simple non intrusive and non distractive navigation directions. It’s paired with a specifically designed Royal Enfield App, developed to interact with Google Maps.
There’s the potential that this feature will turn up on other Royal Enfield models. A host of accessories have also been made available for the Meteor 350, along with a range of riding gear, including helmets.
