Husqvarna is looking towards an electric future, exploring the idea with this concept, the Husqvarna E-Pilen.
Based on the aesthetics we’ve see come from the Vitpilen lineup already, the E-Pilen wraps that look around a boxy battery pack that is good for a quoted 60 miles (100 km) of range.
The motor is equally diminutive, with a rating of 8kW (11hp) of power, though Husqvarna does say that the battery pack has the capability of being swappable, which could make the E-Pilen more practical.
All of this makes the Husqvarna E-Pilen concept more of a small-displacement rival, that could work alongside the 401 lineup of bikes from the Swedish brand, with a bid towards urban riders.
There are no indications from Husqvarna about specifically bringing the E-Pilen to market, though the bike does seem to serve as a beacon of what Husqvarna is up to in the EV space.
“Development of the E-mobility range is already well-advanced and further information will be released in the near future,” the brand says, and we would expect to see something similar from Husky in the next few years, especially as the push for electrics continues to gain traction.
Is this the way forward for Husqvarna and its sister companies (KTM and GasGas)? That remains to be seen.
