Benelli has decided to jump up the bracket and focus on the 250-500cc range.
Italian superbike manufacturer Benelli will be rolling out three more motorcycle variants to the Indian market by the end of the year. Benelli is setting sights on expanding its dealership network and will be including the Benelli 502C power cruiser in its latest portfolio.
According to the company’s Business Head and Managing Director, Vikas Jhabakh, pre-bookings are available and the bike will be launched this month.
As of now, Benelli has rolled out three motorcycle models, namely the 500-cc TRK502, TRK502X, and Leoncino as well as the 374-cc Imperiale 400. Now, the top gun plans to maintain its focus on the 250cc to 500cc range. The range is likely to give the firm a higher growth potential in the overall premium segment. India has a large customer base for 125cc or 150cc motorcycles are recently, the 150cc range and above have been garnering attention.
The 125cc-150cc motorcycles come with a price range of ₹1 lakh- ₹1.60 lakh. Customers are gradually growing into the ₹2-5 lakh bracket.
It is quite likely that they will switch to a ₹8 lakh- ₹10 lakh bike from this level… That is the general tendency,” says Jhabakh to PTI. The company is confident that the 250-500cc range will hit its target audience and maximize its growth.
This segment stands at around 30,000 units annually, “we are looking to corner 25 percent of these total volumes in 2022,” adds Jhabakh.
