Honda CB300R launched at Rs 2.41 lakh in India

The much awaited Honda CB300R has been launched in India at Rs. 2.41 lakh (ex-showroom). The Honda CB300R will be powered by a 286cc, liquid-cooled, four valve, single cylinder DOHC motor, mated to a 6 speed gear box. This makes it a direct rival to KTM Duke 390 and BMW G310R. The engine makes 30.4 hp at 8,000 RPM and produces 27.4 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. The kerb weight stands at 143 kg, making it lightest in it’s category. The front suspension duties are carried out by 41 mm USD forks and rear mono shock comes with a 5 stage pre-load setting. The dash design is minimalist but comes fully digital. All lights, including indicator are LED. The petrol tank is mere 10 litre, which means frequent petrol station stops, so no long highway runs. The handle bar is flat styled, giving riders a perfect street fighter stance and comfortable riding position. Current colour options offered are Metallic Grey and Red.

The Honda CB300R will be perfect for those quick city sprints. Light and fun to ride. Having said this, the CB300R definitely has some serious competition in it’s price category due to recently launched Royal Enfield’s 650 Twins priced at 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The CB300R will be sold in India by Honda Wing World outlets, which currently sells premium segment motorcycles in India. The current model coming to India will be brought in as completely knocked down unit (CKD). Bookings are already open and deliveries will start by March 2019.
