OUR latest bit of bike gear to test comes from the good folk at Raptor Biker Wear, in the form of the Renegade armoured shirt. They’re the same people behind the Maverick armoured hoodie we were very impressed with a few months back.
The good news is we are similarly impressed with the Renegade shirt. A good looking, quality offering from the team at Raptor, it still keeps an emphasis on rider safety, while offering a quality alternative to wearing full leathers.
Available in four stylish colours including Blue, Red, Green and Grey (as per our test rig), these shirts are not only comfy to ride in, but can be ordered in a colour to match your bike and riding gear.
Well constructed and fully lined with DuPont Kevlar, the Renegade shirt also features zip and stud fastening at the front of the shirt. EU approved Timpa Level 1 and 2 armour is featured and fully removable in the back, shoulders and elbows, should you wish to take it out.
There is also plenty of storage, with two outer chest pockets and an internal mobile phone pocket. A full mesh inner-liner is also present, and like the Maverick hoodie, construction and quality appears first class.
Perfect for the hotter riding months, the Renegade shirts offer much more protection than a standard t-shirt or long sleeve shirt could ever give you. It still allows a good breeze in hotter riding conditions as well.
During our test period, we found ourselves reaching for the Renegade shirt more than a jacket and it was easy to slip a riding vest on over the top and still look good.
Offering versatility, as well as great comfort and maneuverability, the Renegade kevlar shirt from Raptor Biker Wear is definitely worth a look. With sizes available from small all the way through to 6XL, there will be a size to fit most.
An easy to use online size guide will help when selecting yours. It’s super accurate, and when our test unit arrived, it fit perfectly. This shirt really is a great accessory for your summer cruising.
Pricing starts at $122.04 plus GST and postage. It can be ordered online at www.raptorbikerwear.com
