The new addition marks Royal Enfield’s latest effort to tackle the Southeast Asian market.
Royal Enfield is the latest motorcycle manufacturer to open an operating and assembly plant in Thailand. The Indian top gun joins the bandwagon alongside giants Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW, Triumph Motorcycles and Ducati.
The factory, located in Chachoengsao, Bangkok, will not only market motorcycles in Thailand but also throughout Southeast Asia.
The opening of the new plant also marks Royal Enfield’s efforts to amplify its motorcycle manufacturing and marketing efforts in Asia.
Interestingly, the factory is already operating by producing small-displacement motorcycles with the Thai company, GPX.
Meanwhile, RE Executive Director B. Govindarajan has already confirmed that the plant will market several models as CKD including the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and Himalayan.
