Aprilia launches RSV4 XTrenta with only 100 Units available

The XTrenta – translated as ‘30’ in Italian – has been created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Aprilia’s first Grand Prix world title in 1992.

This year saw Aprilia make a significant achievement on the MotoGP stage, with Aleix Espargaro winning the Argentine GP while fellow teammate Maverick Vinales recorded his second podium at the San Marino GP, on Sunday.

Accordingly, Aprilia introduced the RSV4 XTrenta to celebrate the Italian motorcycle manufacturer’s achievements. Based on the Aprilia RSV4 superbike machine, the RSV4 XTrenta machine is a special machine built for the race circuit (track-only).

Interestingly, this RSV4 XTrenta is injected with the same features found on Aprilia’s MotoGP machine, the RS-GP 22 ridden by Espargaro and Vinales.

The RSV4 XTrenta is developed with the same PAN Compositi process used by the MotoGP team. As a result, the Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta offers an aerodynamic package and winglet as found on the RS-GP.

Not only that, but the RSV4 XTrenta also comes with an ‘under-wing’ or ‘The Spoon’ feature which is installed at the bottom of the swingarm and in front of the rear tire. ‘The Spoon’ functions to control the temperature of the rear tire to ensure optimal grip. This is the first time a ‘production’ motorcycle is equipped with this feature.

In addition, Aprilia also updated the 1,099cc V4 engine which now produces 230hp. A titanium exhaust developed with collaborator SC-Project also contributed to the sudden power increase. The use of lightweight components (mainly carbon fiber) also saw the Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta weigh only 165kg.

Other unique features on offer include Magneti Marelli IMU, Jetprime button panel, Ohlins suspension, and Marchesini M7R Genesi magnesium rims. Meanwhile, the brakes are handled by Brembo GP4-MS monoblock calipers matched with 330mm T-drive brake discs.

According to Aprilia, orders for the RSV4 XTrenta can be made starting Tuesday (September 6) at a price of EUR50,000 (RM222,400).
